Adult Literacy Program
Lack of basic skills can lead to unemployment or low-paying dead-end jobs. This leaves the uneducated with no opportunity to have their voices heard; and the possibility of watching their children repeat the cycle. Low literacy levels can affect economic development; diminish the effectiveness of citizen economic participation leading to a repeated cycle of poverty.
Women will be helped to gain literacy skills for the purpose of reducing poverty, improve public health and advance human rights. To make these existing efforts even from the government and other stakeholders stronger, WI will increase the capacity and quality of adult literacy programs through technical assistance, training, professional development and content development.
